Saintpaulia or African Violets

Saintpaulia is commonly known as the African Violet because it originates from Africa and the flowers look like violets. The plant was discovered by Baron von Saint Paul in 1892 at which point it was sent to Hermann Wendland at Berlin’s Royal Botanic Gardens, who named it Saintpaulia ionantha.
12 – 15cm overall height. Given price is per plant, African violets are sold as mixed. Flowering plants are subject to season.

Keep temperature moderate, place the plant near indirect sun light and be careful while watering.
Keep the compost moist with room temperature mineral water.
African violets likes some humidity so you can mist the leaves, but don’t mist the leaves when it is in flower.
Feed with a high nitrogen liquid feed every week in spring and summer, In winter use a balanced fertilizer every 2-4 weeks.
